Global Marketing & Business Development
Our Global Marketing & Business Development Group (GMBD) is a global marketing organisation which ensures the world-wide delivery of a portfolio of branded products capable of sustaining or exceeding AstraZeneca business objectives.
Our GMBD group, working closely with our R&D community and our major marketing companies, leads the commercial aspects of drug development and co-ordinates market strategy. This includes selecting the right products and projects for investment, developing effective marketing platforms in time for new product launches and directing the creation and delivery of product marketing strategies that successfully assign global and national plans.
In the UK, all GMBD staff are based at Alderley Park, Cheshire
The UK Marketing Company
The UK Marketing Company is responsible for sales, marketing, customer services and an extensive clinical research programme. They focus selling AstraZeneca products in a changing and dynamic healthcare market and selling products which meet customer needs, both economic as well as therapeutic.
The team of more than 1,800 people comprises a sales 'field force' closely aligned to our customers and potential customers, a comprehensive sales and marketing team at our Bedfordshire headquarters and a clinical research group in Scotland. The UK Marketing Company is closely involved in launching AstraZeneca's 'Megabrands'.
The marketing headquarters in Luton, Bedfordshire is 'home' to a team of highly skilled marketing, medical professionals, regulatory personnel, human resource professionals, public relations and government affairs specialists as well as financial analysts, health economists, legal expertise, IT and administration.
